Juniper compatible JNP-SFPP-10GE-T Description
EdgeOptic's JNP-SFPP-10GE-T compatible is a Juniper-coded 10GBASE-T SFP+ copper transceiver for QFX and EX series switches running Junos, also identified by the Juniper internal part code 740-083295. It ships with Juniper-recognised EEPROM, so Junos reports the module as a Juniper optic and DOM values surface in the standard Junos hardware inventory output.
The module delivers 10GBASE-T over RJ45 up to 30 m on Cat 6a or Cat 7 copper. Auto-negotiation covers 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G NBASE-T rates on hosts that support multi-gig signalling, with 1G fallback on any 1000BASE-T endpoint. Electrical interface follows SFF-8431 (SFP+ MSA) with IEEE 802.3an for 10G, IEEE 802.3bz for 2.5G and 5G, and IEEE 802.3ab for 1G. Operating temperature is 0 to 65 °C, and the module is CE and RoHS certified.
Juniper lists the OEM JNP-SFPP-10GE-T on the QFX5100, QFX5110, and QFX5120-48Y top-of-rack switches, the EX4400-24X and EX4400-48F access switches, and the EX4650-48Y aggregation platform. Modular chassis such as QFX10008 and QFX10016 accept 10GBASE-T SFP+ on line cards that include RJ45 cages; verify line-card support in the Juniper HCT before ordering. On QFX5120-48Y the OEM part requires Junos 19.3 or later to register correctly, a dependency that applies equally to the EdgeOptic Juniper-coded compatible. The module is intended for the main SFP+ cages, not for the 4x25G uplink slots on EX4400 which expect 25G optics.
Because 10GBASE-T draws more power than short-reach fibre optics, populate Juniper SFP+ cages with attention to chassis power headroom on high-density deployments. The JNP-SFPP-10GE-T reports DOM telemetry, scoped to the fields that apply to a copper SFP+ such as case temperature, supply voltage, and link status, through the standard Juniper CLI and any SNMP or streaming-telemetry collector already in place. As a copper module there is no laser, so optical-DDM fields are not reported.
Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical and copper SFP+ platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the JNP-SFPP-10GE-T need a specific Junos version on QFX5120-48Y or EX4400?
On QFX5120-48Y, Junos 19.3 is the earliest release that recognises the OEM JNP-SFPP-10GE-T, and the same minimum applies to the EdgeOptic compatible. Earlier Junos builds will either fail to bring the interface up or list the optic as unrecognised. QFX5100 and QFX5110 accept the module on their supported 10GBASE-T releases, and EX4400-24X and EX4400-48F accept it on the main SFP+ cages; the 4x25G uplink module on EX4400 is not a 10GBASE-T slot and should not be populated with this transceiver.
Is 740-083295 the same module as JNP-SFPP-10GE-T?
Yes. 740-083295 is the Juniper internal part code printed on the module label and listed in Juniper's internal ordering systems for the JNP-SFPP-10GE-T. Both identifiers refer to the same 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceiver, and EdgeOptic's compatible is coded to match either reference in Junos output.
