Juniper compatible QFX-SFP-10GE-LR Description

The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Juniper QFX-SFP-10GE-LR 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. Juniper EEPROM coded for QFX platforms.

The transceiver operates at 10.3125 Gbps, supporting 10GBASE-LR per IEEE 802.3ae. It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with a minimum link budget of 6dB over standard G.652 single-mode fiber. Dual-rate operation at 1G Ethernet (1.25 Gbps) is also supported on ports that allow rate negotiation.

This module is compatible with Juniper QFX5100, QFX5110, QFX5200, and QFX10000 series data center switches with SFP+ ports. Junos validates optics via PIC firmware; Juniper-coded compatible modules are recognized without warnings.

The QFX- prefix distinguishes this from Juniper’s EX-SFP-10GE-LR (EX campus switches) and SFPP-10GE-LR (MX/SRX routers). All three are 10GBASE-LR at 1310nm/10km but carry different EEPROM coding for their respective Juniper platform families.

Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. CE/RoHS certified, commercial temperature range (0 to 70 °C).

Same 10GBASE-LR optics. QFX-SFP-10GE-LR is coded for Juniper QFX data center switches. EX-SFP-10GE-LR is coded for Juniper EX campus switches. They are not interchangeable without matching EEPROM coding for the target platform.
