EdgeOptic's QSFP-100G-4WDM40-I compatible is a Juniper-coded industrial-temperature 100GBASE-4WDM-40 QSFP28 transceiver built to the 4WDM-40 MSA. It mirrors Juniper OEM part QSFP-100G-4WDM40-I (740-092597), the iTemp variant of the standard QSFP-100G-4WDM40 with an extended -40 to +85 C operating range for hardened-environment routing and access deployments.

Optical layer matches the commercial 4WDM-40 SKU. Four LAN-WDM channels at 1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58, and 1309.14 nm carry 25.78125 Gb/s NRZ each. Cooled EML transmitters land between -2 dBm and +4 dBm per lane; APD receivers reach -21 dBm sensitivity with -1 dBm overload. Optical link budget is 22 dB with host RS-FEC engaged for the full 40 km reach, or 18 dB without FEC. Host-side RS-FEC is required for the 40 km application.

Protocol scope is 100GE only. The 4WDM-40 MSA defines a 100GBASE application with KR4 FEC and does not extend to OTU4 or Fibre Channel rates. Use this module for 100GBASE-4WDM-40 ports only; OTU4 transponder applications are served by separate SKUs on the broader 100G-QSFP28-40 platform.

Supported Juniper platforms for the -I variant are narrower than the commercial QSFP-100G-4WDM40. The Juniper HCT lists 9 supported platforms, with current Junos coverage on ACX7332, ACX7348, MX304, MX10004, PTX10008, and PTX10002-36QDD; ACX710, ACX7024 and ACX7024X are also referenced for earlier Junos branches. Do not assume the 65-platform list of the commercial variant applies; verify the line-card and Junos release entry against the Juniper HCT before ordering this iTemp SKU.

EEPROM is coded for Juniper recognition, so Junos brings the module up with no override command and no unsupported-transceiver flag. DOM is supported through the standard QSFP28 SFF-8636 page map. Form factor is QSFP28 duplex LC PC/UPC; module power 4.5 W maximum; industrial operating temperature -40 to +85 C.
