Juniper compatible QSFPP-40GBASE-LR4 Description

EdgeOptic's QSFPP-40GBASE-LR4 compatible is a Juniper-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver, orderable under Juniper PID 740-073093. It carries 40Gb/s Ethernet over 10 km of single-mode fiber using four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm on a duplex LC connector. A Juniper-recognized EEPROM lets QFX, EX and MX ports identify and enable the module.

The optic transmits with a DFB laser at −6 to +3 dBm per lane into a PIN-photodiode receiver rated to −12.6 dBm sensitivity with a +3 dBm overload point, for a 6.6 dB link budget across the CWDM grid. NRZ modulation carries the 41.25 Gbps 40GbE line rate (four lanes of 10.3125 Gbps). DOM telemetry reports temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, transmit power and receive power over the I2C interface. Operating temperature spans 0 to 70 °C.

Built to IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87, the QSFP+ MSA and SFF-8436, the module matches the Juniper QSFPP-40GBASE-LR4 optical specification for 40GBASE-LR4 Ethernet switching. Verify the part against your Juniper platform transceiver compatibility guide for your QFX, EX or MX port before deployment.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For platform qualification or bulk orders, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Juniper QSFPP-40GBASE-LR4 (740-073093) and JNP-QSFP-40G-LR4 (740-073095)?

These are two distinct Juniper ordering codes for the same 40GBASE-LR4 optical spec: a 10 km LC duplex QSFP+ module. Order the code your platform's transceiver compatibility guide specifies for your port, since different Juniper platforms can list different PIDs for the same optic.
