Juniper compatible SFPP-10GE-ZR Description

EdgeOptic's SFPP-10GE-ZR compatible is a Juniper-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-80 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ZR transceiver, also ordered under Juniper code 740-041612. It carries Juniper-recognized EEPROM so the module is identified by Junos. SFPP- is Juniper's universal SFP+ naming used across a broader set of platforms than the EX-specific naming, for the same 1550nm 80km ZR build.

The module carries 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 80km of G.652 single-mode fiber through a duplex LC connector. An EML transmitter and APD receiver reach the full ZR distance. Transmit power runs from 0 to +5 dBm, receiver sensitivity is better than −24 dBm, and the 23 dB link budget covers the 80km span. Chromatic dispersion tolerance is 1600 ps/nm. Digital diagnostics report temperature, supply voltage, laser bias, transmit power, and received power. The hot-pluggable SFP+ seats in a Juniper 10G SFP+ port and the host reads its DDM telemetry for in-service link monitoring. A single 1550nm wavelength over single-mode fiber suits data-center interconnect and metro uplinks that run past the 40km reach of an ER optic.

On spans shorter than about 40km, add an inline optical attenuator to keep received power below the overload threshold. The module runs over the standard 0 to 70 degree C temperature range on a 3.3V supply and meets SFF-8431, the SFP+ MSA, and Class 1 laser safety per IEC 60825-1, with CE and RoHS. 10GBASE-ZR is a de-facto MSA reach class derived from OC-192 and STM-64 transport, not an IEEE 802.3ae mode.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. To confirm support on a specific Juniper chassis, verify the host against the Juniper hardware compatibility tool at apps.juniper.net/hct or contact our sales team. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Juniper EX-SFP-10GE-ZR and the SFPP-10GE-ZR?

Both are 1550nm 80km 10GBASE-ZR SFP+ optics and are optically identical; only the Juniper vendor coding and ordering code differ. The EX- prefix is associated with the Juniper EX Series, while SFPP- is Juniper's broader SFP+ naming used across a wider set of platforms. Match the part name your chassis expects, and verify the host against the Juniper hardware compatibility tool. If you are unsure which coding your switch requires, contact our sales team.
