The BIDI-10GFH-SFP-60BI module operates using wavelength division multiplexing technology, transmitting at 1330nm and receiving at 1270nm over a single fiber strand. With data rates from 1.228 to 10.138 Gbps, this industrial-grade transceiver provides fiber-efficient extended-reach connectivity between baseband units and remote radio heads in 4G LTE and 5G network deployments where fiber pair availability is limited and extreme temperature operation is required.

Our 10G Fronthaul BiDi 60km Industrial SFP+ transceiver utilizes DFB (Distributed Feedback) laser technology for transmission and APD (Avalanche Photodiode) for receiving. This enhanced receiver sensitivity enables the module to ensure a 21 dB guaranteed optical link budget, which determines the maximum transmission distance. Over single-mode fiber, the transceiver can reach distances up to 60 kilometers while using only one fiber strand instead of the traditional two-fiber approach. However, distance is just an indicative parameter calculated for comfort of identification – eventually we calculate distance taking into account minimal optical budget and average attenuation of optical cabling in industry.

The BIDI-10GFH-SFP-60BI must be deployed in pairs with its complementary module BIDI-10GFH-SFP-60AI at the opposite end of the link. The Side B module transmits at 1330nm and receives at 1270nm, while Side A transmits at 1270nm and receives at 1330nm, enabling full-duplex communication over a single fiber. This configuration effectively doubles fiber utilization in fronthaul networks spanning considerable geographic distances in challenging environments.

The industrial temperature rating of -45°C to +85°C makes this transceiver ideal for outdoor cabinet installations, remote radio head locations exposed to environmental extremes, and deployments in regions with significant temperature variations. The BIDI-10GFH-SFP-60BI compatible 10G Fronthaul BiDi Industrial module is a hot-pluggable SFP+ with a single LC/UPC connector as an optical interface.
