MikroTik compatible S-85DLC05D Description

EdgeOptic's S-85DLC05D compatible is a MikroTik-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1.25G-SFP-550D multi-vendor 1000BASE-SX transceiver. It is a dual-rate SFP that carries Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps (IEEE 802.3z) and 1G Fibre Channel short-wave at 1.0625 Gbps (FC-PI). An 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver drive duplex multimode fiber through a dual LC/UPC connector.

Reach is 550 m over OM2 multimode fiber (50/125, 500 MHz·km) and 275 m over OM1. The minimum guaranteed optical budget is 7.5 dB; treat distance as an indicative figure and confirm the loss budget against the installed cabling. DDM/DOM reports live optical power, temperature, and bias. The module runs from a single +3.3V supply, is rated for the standard 0 to 70°C operating range, and is built to the INF-8074i SFP MSA with CE, RoHS, and Class 1 laser compliance.

MikroTik RouterOS does not lock out MSA-compliant third-party SFPs, so this module is recognized in RouterBOARD equipment with a 1G SFP cage without any unsupported-transceiver workaround. EdgeOptic codes the compatible with MikroTik-recognized EEPROM. The same INF-8074i compliance means it also drops into MSA-compliant equipment from other vendors. One note on temperature: the genuine MikroTik S-85DLC05D is an industrial-rated part (-40 to +85°C), while the EdgeOptic compatible is specified for the standard 0 to 70°C range.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For industrial or extended-temperature deployments, or any deployment question, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the EdgeOptic S-85DLC05D compatible work below 0°C or above 70°C?

The genuine MikroTik S-85DLC05D is an industrial-rated module (-40 to +85°C). The EdgeOptic compatible is specified for the standard 0 to 70°C commercial range, so it is not the right choice for outdoor or industrial environments outside that window. For deployments that need the wider industrial temperature range, contact our sales team so we can match the correct part.

Will a third-party S-85DLC05D compatible work outside MikroTik equipment?

Yes. The module is built to the INF-8074i SFP MSA, so it works in MSA-compliant 1G SFP cages from any vendor, not only MikroTik gear. RouterOS itself does not block MSA-compliant third-party SFPs, so no CLI command is needed to bring the link up in MikroTik RouterBOARD devices.
