MikroTik compatible S+31DLC10D Description
The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the MikroTik S+31DLC10D 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. The module runs 10GBASE-LR at 1310nm over single-mode fiber, reaching 10km through a duplex LC/UPC connector. MikroTik RouterOS accepts MSA-compliant SFP+ modules without vendor restrictions, so no special configuration is needed.
Transmitter uses a 1310nm DFB laser; receiver is a PIN photodiode. Link budget is 6dB over G.652 single-mode fiber. The module supports dual-rate operation at 1.25 Gbps (1000BASE-LX, 8B/10B) and 10.3125 Gbps (10GBASE-LR, 64B/66B encoding per IEEE 802.3ae).
Tested in MikroTik CCR and CRS platforms with SFP+ ports, including the CCR1036-8G-2S+, CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS, CCR2116-12G-4S+, CRS305-1G-4S+, CRS309-1G-8S+, CRS326-24S+2Q+, CRS328-24P-4S+, and CRS354-48P-4S+2Q+. Any MikroTik device with an SFP+ cage will accept this module. Note that 1G-only SFP ports (S ports, not S+ ports) will not run this module at 10G.
The S+31DLC10D naming follows MikroTik’s SFP+ product line convention: S+ denotes SFP+ form factor, 31 indicates the 1310nm wavelength band, DLC corresponds to the duplex LC connector, and 10D reflects the 10km reach. The S+85DLC03D (10GBASE-SR, 850nm, 300m multimode) is the short-reach counterpart in the same product range.
RouterOS provides SFP+ diagnostics through “/interface ethernet monitor [interface-name]” on both RouterOS v6 and v7. In Winbox, open Interfaces, double-click the SFP+ port, and check the SFP+ tab for optical readings. Monitored parameters include TX/RX optical power, laser bias current, temperature, and supply voltage per SFF-8472.
MSA compliant per SFF-8431 (electrical) and IEEE 802.3ae (optical), with Class 1 laser safety per IEC 60825-1. CE and RoHS certified for commercial temperature range 0°C to 70°C.
The S+31DLC10D operates over standard OS2 single-mode fiber. Minimum link length is 2m; use an inline attenuator for shorter patches. The module supports hot-swappable insertion in SFP+ cage types.
G.652 single-mode fiber has an attenuation of approximately 0.35 dB/km at 1310nm. Over a 10km span, fiber loss consumes about 3.5 dB of the optical power budget, leaving ~2.5 dB margin once connector and splice losses are accounted for. For spans near the 10km limit, measure installed attenuation with an OTDR before commissioning.

MikroTik RouterOS accepts MSA-compliant SFP+ modules without vendor locking. No configuration changes or CLI overrides are needed — the module is detected automatically with DDM readings available in RouterOS diagnostics. This applies to all MikroTik devices with SFP+ ports, including CCR and CRS series.
