Netgear compatible AXM762 Description
The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Netgear AXM762 (AXM762-10000S) 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet over single-mode fiber at 1310nm, reaching up to 10km with a duplex LC connector. This module is EEPROM-coded for Netgear platforms.
The transceiver operates at data rates from 1.25 to 10.3125 Gbps, supporting 10GBASE-LR (IEEE 802.3ae) and Gigabit Ethernet applications. It uses a 1310nm DFB laser transmitter paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with a minimum link budget of 6dB over standard G.652 single-mode fiber.
This module is tested on Netgear M5300, M7100, and M7300 series managed switches, as well as XS505M and XS508M 10G switches with SFP+ ports.
Netgear uses the AXM7xx series for 10G SFP+ optics. The AXM761 is the SR variant (850nm, multimode, 300m). The AXM762 is the LR variant (1310nm, single-mode, 10km). The AXM763 is the LRM variant (1310nm, multimode, 220m for legacy OM1/OM2 cabling).
Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) is supported per SFF-8472. The module reports TX/RX optical power, temperature, laser bias current, and supply voltage in real time. It is MSA-compliant per SFF-8431 and SFF-8432, CE/RoHS certified, and operates in commercial temperature range (0 to 70C).
