Nvidia compatible MC2210511-LR4 Description

EdgeOptic's NVIDIA MC2210511-LR4 compatible is an NVIDIA-coded version of the EdgeOptic 40G-QSFP-10 multi-vendor 40GBASE-LR4 transceiver. NVIDIA now owns the MC2210511-LR4 part line through its acquisition of Mellanox, and the module programs with EEPROM an NVIDIA host reads as its own, so a Spectrum switch port or a ConnectX adapter brings the 40GbE link up without manual steps.

The module carries 40 Gigabit Ethernet (41.25 Gbps) over four CWDM lanes at 1271, 1291, 1311 and 1331 nm, multiplexed onto a single-mode duplex LC pair for 10 km of reach. A DFB laser drives each lane at −6 to +3 dBm, and the PIN receiver holds a per-lane sensitivity of −12.6 dBm with a +3 dBm overload point, for a 6.6 dB optical link budget. It meets IEEE 802.3ba Clause 87 and the QSFP+ MSA (SFF-8436, INF-8438i), with DOM reporting of temperature, voltage, bias and optical power.

This page covers the 40GBASE-LR4 Ethernet application defined by the 40G-QSFP-10 root, and the EdgeOptic compatible follows that specification. NVIDIA's own MC2210511-LR4 datasheet also qualifies the part for InfiniBand FDR10 fabrics, which sits outside the Ethernet scope here. Teams building InfiniBand FDR10 links should contact our sales team to confirm the correct InfiniBand-coded option. For 40GbE, verify the part against the NVIDIA transceiver compatibility matrix for your Spectrum switch or ConnectX adapter.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For volume pricing or InfiniBand options, contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the NVIDIA-branded version of the Mellanox MC2210511-LR4?

Yes. NVIDIA completed its acquisition of Mellanox in 2020, and the MC2210511-LR4 part number carried forward under the NVIDIA brand. Suppliers list the same physical 40GBASE-LR4 module as either Mellanox or NVIDIA MC2210511-LR4, and EdgeOptic's compatible serves both ordering paths.

Can I use this NVIDIA MC2210511-LR4 on an InfiniBand FDR10 fabric?

NVIDIA's MC2210511-LR4 datasheet lists InfiniBand FDR10 alongside 40GbE, but this EdgeOptic page is the 40GBASE-LR4 Ethernet build and is coded for Ethernet hosts. An InfiniBand FDR10 fabric needs the InfiniBand-coded option, so contact our sales team with your switch or HCA model and we will confirm the right part before you order.
