Nvidia compatible MMS1V70-CM Description

EdgeOptic's MMS1V70-CM compatible is an NVIDIA-coded version of the EdgeOptic 100G-QSFP28-SL500 multi-vendor 100GBASE-DR transceiver. MMS1V70-CM is the legacy NVIDIA OPN for a single-lambda 100GbE QSFP28 DR1 module that started life as a Mellanox transceiver and now sits in NVIDIA's networking portfolio. It runs single-lambda 100G PAM4 at 1310nm over duplex single-mode fiber, IEEE 802.3cd 100GBASE-DR and 100G Lambda MSA compliant.

The module converts the four 25G NRZ host lanes to one 100G PAM4 optical wavelength, giving 106.25 Gbps line rate with a 3 dB link budget that reaches 500m over G.652 SMF. Transmit uses an EML laser across the 1304.5 to 1317.5nm range; receive uses a PIN photodiode. DOM diagnostics report live optical and temperature data, and the module operates across the standard 0 to 70 degrees C range with duplex LC connectors.

RS(544,514) KP4 FEC runs inside the module DSP, so the host port must keep its own FEC disabled. As a single-lambda DR module it also bridges legacy 100GbE and 400GbE PAM4 systems: four MMS1V70-CM modules can fan out from one 400GBASE-DR4 port over a fiber breakout.
