EdgeOptic's PAN-QSFP28-100GBASE-SR4 compatible is a Palo Alto Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic 100G-QSFP28-100 multi-vendor QSFP28 transceiver. One physical 100GBASE-SR4 design ships against the EEPROM coding required across the major firewall and switch vendors, including the standard Palo Alto ordering channel. The module covers 100 Gb Ethernet over four parallel 25 Gb/s lanes on multi-mode fiber to the 100GBASE-SR4 specification.

PAN-QSFP28-100GBASE-SR4 is the standard Palo Alto Networks ordering code for the 100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 optic used on PA-Series next-generation firewall platforms with 100G QSFP28 interfaces. The TAA procurement channel for the same optic uses a separate PAN-T- ordering code with its own EdgeOptic page; this page covers the standard (non-TAA) PAN- code only.

Optical specifications: 850 nm VCSEL transmitters across four lanes, RX sensitivity better than −10.3 dBm per lane, 1.9 dB average link budget, 100 m reach over OM4 and 70 m over OM3. The line side runs NRZ at an aggregate 103.125 Gb/s with no host FEC required for the SR4 PMD. MTP/MPO-12 UPC connector on the front panel; the transceiver port is female, so the patch cable presents the male pinned ferrule. Use a Type B polarity patch when bridging transceiver to transceiver. DDM/DOM monitoring reports transmit power, receive power and bias current per lane, plus module-level temperature and supply voltage.

Compatible with Palo Alto Networks PA-Series firewall chassis that expose QSFP28 100G interfaces and accept the PAN-QSFP28-100GBASE-SR4 ordering code. EdgeOptic codes the part to match the PAN-QSFP28-100GBASE-SR4 ordering code.
