RAD compatible SFP-P-13 Description
EdgeOptic's RAD SFP-P-13 compatible is a RAD-coded 10GBASE-T copper SFP+ transceiver for RAD Data Communications ETX Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices with 10G SFP+ cages. EdgeOptic programs the module EEPROM to match the RAD SFP-P-13 vendor profile so the transceiver enumerates identically to the OEM module on ETX platforms that reference this ordering code in their SFP compatibility section.
Confirmed platform support covers the RAD ETX-2i-10G and ETX-220A Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices, both of which provide 10G SFP+ ports and list SFP-P-13 as the copper 10GBASE-T ordering code. ETX-2i-10G is RAD's 10G demarcation CPE for Carrier Ethernet services and TDM migration deployments; ETX-220A covers small and medium demarcation points with 10G uplink capability. Standard ETX-2 (non-10G) uses 1G SFP modules and is outside the SFP-P-13 scope.
RAD's product documentation states that RAD recommends ordering its CPE with original RAD SFP or XFP modules and that RAD cannot guarantee full compliance to product specifications for units using non-RAD SFPs. That policy applies to warranty and specification guarantees from RAD itself; it does not change the functional compatibility of an EEPROM-coded module. EdgeOptic's SFP-P-13 compatible is coded with the RAD vendor profile, so the ETX management plane accepts the transceiver on the standard SFP inventory path. Service-provider engineers evaluating compatibles for ETX fleets should weigh the RAD policy against their own support contract and procurement standards.
The transceiver operates per IEEE 802.3an for 10GBASE-T and IEEE 802.3bz for 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T, with 1000BASE-T multi-rate fallback. Reach is 30 m at 10G on Cat6a or Cat7. Electrical and management interfaces follow SFF-8431 and SFF-8432. Operating temperature covers 0 to 65 °C commercial grade with CE and RoHS certification. DOM telemetry on this copper module is scoped to case temperature, supply voltage, and link status. Transmit optical power, receive optical power, and laser bias current do not exist on a copper transceiver and are not reported by the ETX management interface.

Frequently Asked Questions
RAD recommends only original RAD SFPs for ETX devices. Can a compatible SFP-P-13 be used without voiding support?
RAD's non-OEM SFP policy is a warranty and specification-guarantee statement from RAD; it does not change the functional compatibility of an EEPROM-coded module. EdgeOptic's SFP-P-13 compatible is programmed with the RAD vendor profile so the ETX management plane accepts it on the standard SFP inventory path. Service-provider engineers should weigh the policy against their own RAD support contract and procurement standards; EdgeOptic does not claim RAD warranty coverage carries across to a compatible module.
Which RAD ETX platforms are confirmed to support the SFP-P-13?
Confirmed platforms are the RAD ETX-2i-10G Carrier Ethernet demarcation CPE and the RAD ETX-220A demarcation device, both of which list SFP-P-13 as the 10GBASE-T copper ordering code in their SFP compatibility sections. The standard ETX-2 (non-10G) uses 1G SFP modules and is outside this scope. For other RAD product lines (ETX-5300, SecFlow and older ETX revisions), compatibility is not documented in the public datasheets EdgeOptic has reviewed; contact RAD support or our sales team to verify before deployment.
