EdgeOptic's XG-SFP-ER-SM1550 compatible is a Ruijie Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-40 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver. The module is built to IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-ER, carries the same optical parameters as the original Ruijie part, and uses Ruijie-recognized EEPROM so a Ruijie switch accepts it on a 10G SFP+ port. It runs over duplex single-mode fiber with a Double LC/UPC connector at a 1550 nm nominal wavelength and reaches 40 km on a 15 dB link budget.
Transmit power is specified from −1 to +4 dBm and receiver sensitivity is better than −16 dBm, with a receiver overload point of 0 dBm. The receiver tolerates chromatic dispersion in the 800 to 1000 ps/nm range, which covers a 40 km span of standard G.652 single-mode fiber. The module operates on a single +3.3 V supply across the commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 °C.
Digital diagnostics monitoring (DOM) is supported per the SFF-8431 specification.
