Source Photonics compatible SP-25E-LR-IDFC Description

EdgeOptic's SP-25E-LR-IDFC compatible is a Source Photonics-coded industrial version of the EdgeOptic 25GFH-SFP28-10I multi-vendor 25G fronthaul LR SFP28 transceiver. It runs over duplex single-mode fiber with a duplex LC/UPC interface and carries a minimum guaranteed 8.3 dB optical budget, enough for a 10 km link on standard SMF cabling. The transmitter is a 1310 nm DFB laser paired with a PIN photodiode receiver, with TX output from −5 to +2 dBm and −13 dBm receiver sensitivity.

The module is multi-rate across 8.5 to 28.1 Gbps and supports CPRI option 7 (9.830 Gbps), option 8 (10.138 Gbps), option 9 (12.165 Gbps) and option 10 (24.33 Gbps), the CPRI ceiling for this rate, alongside eCPRI packetized over 25GBASE-LR and the 25GBASE-LR Ethernet rate of 25.78 Gbps. 25GBASE-LR operation needs host RS-FEC. DDM/DOM digital diagnostics report optical power, temperature, bias and voltage over the SFF-8472 interface. Typical deployments are mobile carrier networks, 5G fronthaul and O-RAN radio access links.

EdgeOptic's SP-25E-LR-IDFC compatible is an industrial-temperature module rated for a −45 °C to +85 °C operating range. EEPROM is coded so equipment expecting a Source Photonics SP-25E-LR-IDFC recognizes the module on insertion. It is compliant with 25GBASE-LR, IEEE 802.3cc, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, SFF-8472, the SFP28 MSA, CE and RoHS.
