The EdgeOptic SP-25E-LR-IDFP compatible is a Source Photonics-coded build of the EdgeOptic 25GFH-SFP28-10I, a multi-vendor 25G fronthaul LR SFP28 transceiver for single-mode fiber. Reach is 10 km over a duplex LC/UPC interface on an 8.3 dB minimum optical budget. A 1310 nm DFB laser drives the link with a PIN photodiode on receive; transmit power spans −5 to +2 dBm and receiver sensitivity is −13 dBm.

Across an 8.5 to 28.1 Gbps multi-rate window the module carries CPRI option 7 (9.830 Gbps) through option 10 (24.33 Gbps), with option 10 the highest CPRI rate it reaches, plus eCPRI packetized over 25GBASE-LR and the 25.78 Gbps 25GBASE-LR Ethernet rate. Host RS-FEC is required for 25GBASE-LR. Real-time DDM/DOM over the SFF-8472 interface reports optical power, temperature, laser bias and supply voltage. It suits 5G fronthaul, C-RAN and O-RAN radio access deployments on mobile carrier networks.
