EdgeOptic's SPP-10E-LR-xDFS compatible is a Source Photonics-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 multi-vendor 10GBASE-LR transceiver. SPP-10E-LR-xDFS is Source Photonics' ordering code for a 1310 nm single-mode 10 km 10GBASE-LR SFP+. The EdgeOptic module meets IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 and the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8431, SFF-8432). EdgeOptic programs the EEPROM for Source Photonics host recognition, so the module works on platforms that accept Source Photonics-coded 10G SFP+ optics.
A DFB laser transmits at 1310 nm over duplex single-mode fiber terminated in an LC connector, reaching 10 km at a 6 dB link budget. Launch power sits between −8.2 and 0.5 dBm, and the PIN photodiode receiver is rated at −14.5 dBm sensitivity with 0 dBm overload. DOM per SFF-8472 reports TX and RX power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current in real time.
The transceiver operates from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps and covers 10G Ethernet (10.31 Gbps), Gigabit Ethernet (1.25 Gbps), and STM-64 (9.95 Gbps), with the active rate set by the host port. It runs from a single +3.3 V supply across a 0 to 70 °C commercial case range and is hot-pluggable.
