EdgeOptic's SPQ-CS-ER-CDFA compatible is a Source Photonics-coded QSFP28 transceiver carrying both 100G Ethernet and OTU4 over a 40 km LAN-WDM single-mode link. The CS-series ER4 Lite line covers a data-rate range of 103.1 to 111.8 Gb/s, which spans 100G Ethernet at 103.125 Gbps and OTN OTU4 at 111.81 Gbps. Engineers picking this CS-suffix variant over the 100GE-only SPQ-CE-ER-CDFA sibling are doing so because they need OTU4 client transport on the same optical plant.

Optical layer: four LAN-WDM channels at 1295.56, 1300.05, 1304.58 and 1309.14 nm, EML transmitters, APD receivers. Optical link budget is 22 dB with host FEC and 18 dB without FEC, supporting 40 km on duplex single-mode fiber with an LC connector. Maximum power draw is 4.5 W on a +3.3 V rail, commercial 0 to 70 °C. DDM/DOM is supported per SFF-8636 so live Tx/Rx power, bias current and temperature can be read from the host.

Whether OTU4 client traffic actually runs depends on the host platform's port mode and OTN licensing; verify the chosen port supports OTN framing before commissioning. The EEPROM is coded for recognition on platforms that ship the SPQ-CS-ER-CDFA part number, so the module enumerates cleanly without vendor-specific unsupported-transceiver workarounds. SPQ-CS-ER-CDFA and SPQ-CS-ER-CDFM share the CS-series 100GE+OTU4 capability set; verify the exact suffix matches the part the host platform expects.
