Supermicro compatible AOC-E10GSFPER Description
EdgeOptic's AOC-E10GSFPER compatible is a Supermicro-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-40 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ER SFP+ transceiver. The module is built to IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-ER, carries the same optical parameters as the original Supermicro part, and uses Supermicro-recognized EEPROM so a Supermicro server NIC accepts it on a 10G SFP+ port. It runs over duplex single-mode fiber with a Double LC/UPC connector at a 1550 nm nominal wavelength and reaches 40 km on a 15 dB link budget.
Transmit power is specified from −1 to +4 dBm and receiver sensitivity is better than −16 dBm, with a receiver overload point of 0 dBm. The receiver tolerates chromatic dispersion in the 800 to 1000 ps/nm range, which covers a 40 km span of standard G.652 single-mode fiber. The module operates on a single +3.3 V supply across the commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 °C.
Digital diagnostics monitoring (DOM) is supported per the SFF-8431 specification. The transceiver reports real-time module temperature, supply voltage, laser bias current, transmit optical power, and received optical power, each with warning and alarm thresholds, so a server team can read link health and confirm margin directly from the host before a degraded span turns into a fault. The supported data rates cover 10G Ethernet at 10.3125 Gbps and Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps; available rates depend on the host port and its speed configuration.
