Ubiquiti Networks compatible UACC-CM-RJ45-MG Description
EdgeOptic's UACC-CM-RJ45-MG compatible is a Ubiquiti-coded multi-gigabit SFP+ copper transceiver built as a direct replacement for the Ubiquiti UACC-CM-RJ45-MG. The 'MG' suffix marks this as the multi-gig variant of Ubiquiti's UniFi Accessory copper module line, distinct from the older U Fiber UF-RJ45-10G which is 10G-only.
The module auto-negotiates 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G over RJ45 using Cat6a or Cat7 copper up to 30 metres. Auto-negotiation follows IEEE 802.3an for 10GBASE-T, IEEE 802.3bz for 2.5G and 5G (NBASE-T), and IEEE 802.3ab for 1000BASE-T. Electrical interface follows the SFF-8431 SFP+ MSA, and the module operates across 0 to 65 °C with CE and RoHS certification.
The Ubiquiti ecosystem for this module spans the USW-Pro-Max family, USW-Enterprise-8-PoE and the wider USW-Enterprise line, USW-Pro-Aggregation, and UDM Pro / UDM SE SFP+ slots. Intermediate 2.5G and 5G rates are only available where the switch port itself implements IEEE 802.3bz signalling; on SFP+ ports without multi-gig support the module negotiates 10G with a 10G peer or falls back to 1G with a 1000BASE-T endpoint. On any non-Ubiquiti MSA-compliant SFP+ host the module also operates, with the host's own EEPROM policy determining whether it is flagged as third-party.
EdgeOptic codes the EEPROM for Ubiquiti so the module appears as a recognised UniFi Accessory in the Network controller and the UniFi OS console. DOM values (case temperature and supply voltage) surface through standard SFF-8472 DDM registers, visible in the UniFi controller transceiver view or any SNMP collector monitoring the host switch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the UACC-CM-RJ45-MG negotiate 2.5G and 5G on UniFi switches, or only 1G and 10G?
The 'MG' suffix means multi-gigabit, so the module auto-negotiates 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G as endpoints require. On UniFi switches the intermediate 2.5G and 5G speeds only appear when the host port itself supports multi-gig signalling, such as USW-Enterprise or USW-Pro-Max multi-gig ports. Classic SFP+ ports without multi-gig capability will negotiate 1G or 10G only, which is an OEM-level host limitation rather than a transceiver issue.
How does UACC-CM-RJ45-MG differ from the older UF-RJ45-10G?
UACC-CM-RJ45-MG belongs to the current UniFi Accessory (UACC) line and supports the full multi-gig rate set: 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G. UF-RJ45-10G is from the older U Fiber product family and operates at 1G and 10G only, with no 2.5G or 5G negotiation. For new UniFi deployments that include multi-gig access switches or UDM Pro / UDM SE hosts, UACC-CM-RJ45-MG is the recommended module; UF-RJ45-10G remains a valid 10G-only option for legacy UniFi Fiber inventory.
