The EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-10 is a compatible replacement for the Ubiquiti UACC-OM-SM-10G-D-2 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver. It operates at 1310nm over single-mode fiber with a 10km reach and a duplex LC/UPC interface. Ubiquiti does not enforce SFP+ vendor locking, so third-party MSA-compliant modules work in UniFi devices without additional configuration.
Transmit side is a 1310nm DFB laser; receive side is a PIN photodiode. Link budget is 6dB over G.652 single-mode fiber. Line rate is 10.3125 Gbps with 64B/66B encoding per IEEE 802.3ae.
Compatible with UniFi switches and gateways with SFP+ ports, including the USW-Pro-24, USW-Pro-48, USW-Enterprise-24-PoE, USW-Enterprise-48-PoE, USW-Aggregation, UDM-Pro, UDM-SE, and UXG-Pro. Some firmware versions surface DDM readings (Tx/Rx power, temperature) in the UniFi Network app port details; availability depends on controller and switch firmware version.
UACC-OM-SM-10G-D is the single-unit SKU and UACC-OM-SM-10G-D-2 is the 2-pack. Both are the same 10GBASE-LR SFP+ module. The UF-SM-10G is a closely related Ubiquiti single-mode 10G SFP+ module with the same optical specification (1310nm, 10km, duplex LC). The UACC-OM-SM-10G-D is the current part number under the UACC accessories line; UF-SM-10G remains available as a separate SKU.

Operates over G.652 single-mode fiber (OS1/OS2 compliant). For fiber runs under 2 meters, use a 5–10dB in-line attenuator to avoid receiver saturation.
G.652 single-mode fiber has an attenuation of approximately 0.35 dB/km at 1310nm. Over a 10km span, fiber loss consumes about 3.5 dB of the optical power budget. Connector insertion loss runs 0.5 dB per mated UPC pair; fusion splices add 0.1 dB each. A 10km link with two connector pairs and a few splices consumes roughly 4.5–5 dB, leaving 1–1.5 dB of margin against the 6 dB budget.
10GBASE-LR covers enterprise and campus backbones, inter-building links, metro access and aggregation rings, carrier backhaul, and dark-fiber DCI. The 10km reach is sufficient for most metro and enterprise applications without moving to longer-reach ER or ZR optics. For spans near the 10km limit, measure installed attenuation with an OTDR or optical loss meter before commissioning.
LC connector endfaces should be inspected and cleaned before every mate. Contaminated or scratched connectors are a common cause of link degradation at 10G rates: a single particle larger than the mode field diameter can add several dB of loss. Use IEC 61300-3-35 visual inspection grading and dry or wet cleaning methods before installation.
