Westermo compatible 10GSLC80 Description

EdgeOptic's 10GSLC80 compatible is a Westermo-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-80 multi-vendor 10GBASE-ZR transceiver. Westermo brands its 10G modules simply as "SFP", but the 10GSLC80 is electrically an SFP+ part. The module ships with Westermo-recognized EEPROM so it identifies cleanly on Westermo industrial Ethernet switches such as the RedFox 7500 series, with no manual override needed at the host.

The optical build carries a 1550 nm EML transmitter and an APD receiver across a 23 dB link budget, which is the loss allocation that covers an 80 km span on G.652 single-mode fiber. Transmit power sits between 0 and +5 dBm, receiver sensitivity is better than −24 dBm, and chromatic dispersion tolerance is 1600 ps/nm. The duplex LC interface mates to standard SMF patch cords, and DDM/DOM diagnostics per SFF-8472 report live temperature, laser bias current, transmit and receive optical power, and supply voltage through the host. The EdgeOptic build is rated for the Standard 0 to 70 degrees C commercial range and runs on a single +3.3V supply, with CE, RoHS, and IEC 60825-1 Class 1 laser-safety compliance.

Westermo deploys the 10GSLC80 in industrial Ethernet aggregation and long-haul backbone links, so the working scope here is 10 Gigabit and Gigabit Ethernet transport. The 80 km ZR class is a de-facto SFP+ MSA design derived from the SFF-8431 specification, not an IEEE 802.3ae mode, so confirm both ends of the span run a matched 1550 nm ZR optic during commissioning.
