Our EDGEOPTIC 200G-AOC-QSFP56 is a multi-vendor compatible 200G QSFP56 active optical cable designed for ultra-high-performance 200 Gigabit Ethernet applications requiring extended reach beyond copper cable limitations. The 200G-AOC-QSFP56 features point-to-point configuration with QSFP56 connectors on both ends, utilizing embedded parallel multimode fiber optic technology to deliver reliable high-bandwidth connectivity up to 100 meters for data center interconnects, AI/ML cluster fabrics, and inter-row aggregation in hyperscale environments.

The cable supports 200GBASE-SR4 Ethernet at full line rate using a 4-channel parallel optical architecture, with each lane operating at 53.125 Gbps PAM-4. The DSP-based design provides robust signal processing and equalization across all four PAM-4 lanes, supporting deployment in next-generation 200G spine-leaf topologies, high-performance server connectivity, and inter-switch aggregation links where extended optical reach is required beyond what passive copper can deliver.

The 200G-AOC-QSFP56 operates at 850nm wavelength, utilizing a 4-channel VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) array for transmission and a 4-channel PIN photodiode array for receiving. The embedded multimode fiber supports distances up to 70 meters over OM3 fiber and extends to 100 meters over OM4 fiber, providing deployment flexibility based on available infrastructure. Because the optical fiber is permanently terminated within the cable assembly, there are no exposed fiber connectors to clean or protect, simplifying installation and reducing maintenance requirements compared to traditional optical patch cables with separate transceivers.

The cable incorporates DSP-based PAM-4 signal processing, enabling clean transmission at 53.125 Gbps per lane with built-in equalization and error mitigation. Active optical cables offer inherent immunity to electromagnetic interference, making them ideal for environments with significant electrical noise. The lightweight and flexible construction allows for easier cable routing in congested pathways and improved airflow compared to copper bundles, which is particularly valuable in high-density 200G deployments where thermal management is critical.

The cable operates from a +3.3V single power supply with maximum power consumption of 5.5W per end. The electrical interface conforms to QSFP56 MSA specifications, ensuring broad compatibility with standard QSFP56 host systems from multiple equipment vendors. Our 200G QSFP56 AOC cables can be encoded for compatibility with over 80 different equipment brands.

The cable incorporates built-in DDM/DOM (Digital Diagnostic Monitoring) functionality, providing real-time diagnostic data including transmitted and received optical power levels, module temperature, bias current, and supply voltage through the MSA-compatible management interface. The cable supports hot pluggability and operates within a 0 to 70°C case temperature range with an MTBF rating of 1,000,000 hours, delivering long-term reliability for mission-critical 200G infrastructure deployments.
