Aruba compatible J9150D Description
EdgeOptic's J9150D compatible is an HPE Aruba-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver. The OEM J9150D is the current revision of HPE's X132 10G SR SFP+ for Aruba CX and ProCurve switches. Earlier hardware revisions J9150A, J9150B, and J9150C are documented as successive revs of the same module with identical optical specs; the EdgeOptic compatible covers the role any of the J9150A through J9150D revisions play.
Optical specs follow the 10G-SFP-300 root: 850 nm transmit and receive, 20 nm bandwidth (840 to 860 nm), 300 m over OM3 and 400 m over OM4 / OM5 multimode fiber, duplex LC/UPC connector, 6.1 dB average link budget. Transmit power is −5 to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity is −11.1 dBm, and receiver overload is 0 dBm. The transmitter is a VCSEL laser, the receiver a PIN photodiode, and DOM/DDM is supported per SFF-8472.
Standard target hosts include the HPE Aruba CX 6200, 6300, 6400, and 8400X switch series, plus the ProCurve / Aruba 2530, 2540, 2920, 2930F, and 2930M lines. The compatible is coded for the J9150D Aruba part number so AOS-S and AOS-CX register the optic as expected. Verify the specific port mode, chassis model, and firmware revision against the HPE Aruba AOS-CX / AOS-S Transceiver Compatibility Guide before deployment, since some chassis ports have media-type or speed-group restrictions independent of the optic itself.
Standard commercial temperature 0 to 70 °C, +3.3 V single-supply, IEEE 802.3ae-compliant 10GBASE-SR signaling, SFF-8431 SFP+ MSA, SFF-8472 diagnostic monitoring. Inherits the 10G-SFP-300 root multi-rate scope where the host platform exposes those modes on the port: 10G Ethernet plus 1G / 2G / 4G / 8G / 10G Fibre Channel and STM-64 SDH.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is J9150D interchangeable with the older J9150A, J9150B, and J9150C revisions?
Yes. J9150A through J9150D are successive hardware revisions of the same X132 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver with identical optical specifications per HPE Aruba product catalog listings: 850 nm VCSEL, 300 m over OM3, 400 m over OM4 / OM5, duplex LC connector, DDM. A D-revision compatible is a valid drop-in for any earlier revision footprint. Confirm the firmware on the target switch supports the current revision designation if the platform's transceiver compatibility table is generation-specific.
