Brocade compatible XBR-000163 Description
EdgeOptic's XBR-000163 compatible is a Brocade-coded 10GFC short-wave (SWL) SFP+ for Brocade director-class SAN platforms, specifically the DCX 8510-4 and 8510-8 directors fitted with FC10-6 10GFC blades, the Brocade 7800 extension switch, and legacy DCX directors populated with 10GFC blades. Protocol is 10GFC per FC-PI-5 (T11.3 INCITS 479) at 10.518 Gbps serial line rate, which is a Fibre Channel rate distinct from 10GBASE-SR Ethernet at 10.3125 Gbps. The 10GFC rate does not auto-negotiate down to 8G, 4G or 2G Fibre Channel; multi-rate 8G/4G/2G SAN ports use a separate FC-PI-4 short-wave SKU rather than rate-selecting to XBR-000163.
Optical stage follows the FC-PI-5 short-wave profile: 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, 850 nm PIN photodiode receiver, and the FC-PI-5 short-wave power budget. Reach over duplex LC multimode fiber is 300 m on OM3, 400 m on OM4, 82 m on OM2 and 33 m on OM1 per the FC-PI-5 short-wave specification.
