Cisco (Linksys) compatible LACXGSR Description
EdgeOptic's LACXGSR compatible is a Linksys-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver. Linksys-recognized EEPROM lets the optic register cleanly on Linksys LGS series managed 10G switch SFP+ cages, so the switch accepts the module without a vendor-mismatch alert. One universal SR hardware platform, 80+ vendor codes, including this Linksys Business variant.
Optical specifications, 10GBASE-SR class. 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, multi-mode duplex LC. Reach is 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4. TX output power runs −5 to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity −11.1 dBm, receiver overload 0 dBm, link budget 6.1 dB. Multi-rate capability spans 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps, covering 10G Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 1G to 10G Fibre Channel, and STM-64. DDM/DOM supported for live link diagnostics. Compliance: SFF-8431, SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ae, RoHS, IEC60825-1 Class 1 laser safety. Operating range 0 to 70°C commercial.
LACXGSR is the Linksys order code for the 10GBASE-SR SFP+ used across Linksys LGS series managed business switches including LGS308P, LGS528, and LGS552 platforms. The Linksys brand was sold by Cisco to Belkin in 2013, and Belkin became a Foxconn subsidiary in 2018; LACXGSR carries Linksys-era EEPROM coding from the post-2013 brand period.
On a Cisco Catalyst or Nexus switch, this module is treated as a third-party optic. The vendor identifier programmed on a Linksys LACXGSR maps to the Linksys/Belkin organizational identifier rather than the Cisco identifier, so Cisco IOS and NX-OS log it as an unsupported transceiver until the operator applies the service unsupported-transceiver configuration override. For native Cisco platform deployments, EdgeOptic stocks Cisco-coded SFP+ compatibles separately; LACXGSR is the right ordering route for Linksys LGS series switches and other host platforms that recognize the Linksys vendor identifier.
Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty included. LACXGSR FAQ
Which Linksys switches accept LACXGSR?
LACXGSR is the Linksys-published SR SFP+ optic for the LGS series of managed business switches with 10G SFP+ uplinks, including LGS308P, LGS528, and LGS552. EdgeOptic codes the compatible with the Linksys EEPROM identifier the LGS switch firmware expects to see during inventory collection, so the optic registers as a recognized Linksys transceiver in the port table. Verify the specific switch firmware version against the Linksys product support documentation before deploying at scale, since some firmware releases enforce stricter vendor checks than earlier versions.
Can LACXGSR be used on a Cisco Catalyst or Nexus switch if Linksys and Cisco share EEPROM coding?
They do not share EEPROM coding. Linksys was sold by Cisco to Belkin in 2013, and post-2013 Linksys optics carry the Linksys/Belkin organizational identifier rather than the Cisco identifier. On a Cisco Catalyst or Nexus running IOS or NX-OS, a Linksys-coded LACXGSR registers as an unsupported transceiver and logs a vendor-mismatch warning until the operator applies the service unsupported-transceiver configuration override. For native Cisco platform deployments where the operator does not want the override, order an EdgeOptic Cisco-coded SR SFP+ such as SFP-10G-SR or SFP-10G-SR-S instead.
