EdgeOptic's QSFP-100G-AOC2M compatible is a Cisco-coded 2m version of the EdgeOptic 100G-AOC-QSFP multi-vendor 100G QSFP28 active optical cable. It provides a point-to-point QSFP28-to-QSFP28 link for 100G Ethernet and InfiniBand EDR, with the optical fiber pre-terminated at both ends for 2m reach over OM3 multimode fiber. That makes it a clean fit for top-of-rack to leaf, server-to-switch, and short data center interconnects where a sealed, lightweight optical link is preferred over copper or separate transceivers and patch fiber.
The cable runs at 850nm using VCSEL transmitters and PIN photodiode receivers, supporting 100G Ethernet (103.125 Gbps) and InfiniBand EDR (100 Gbps) across data rates from 96.97 to 112.2 Gbps. Integrated DDM/DOM reports optical power, module temperature, bias current, and supply voltage through the QSFP28 MSA (SFF-8636 and SFF-8665) management interface.
