SFP-CU-RJ45 Cisco Compatible Tri-Speed 10/100/1000 Copper SFP

EdgeOptic's SFP-CU-RJ45 compatible is a Cisco-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1000M-SFP-T multi-vendor tri-speed copper SFP transceiver. Cisco's own hardware documentation lists SFP-CU-RJ45= as an SFP Copper (RJ45) module, with the trailing equals sign marking Cisco's spare-part ordering convention. The form factor is SFP, using the RJ45 copper connector and auto-negotiating 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T through the same MSA cage as Cisco's fiber SFP optics. Supported data rates span 0.1 to 1 Gbps.

Cisco documents SFP-CU-RJ45= for the RF Gateway 1 (RFGW-1), a universal edge QAM platform used in cable television and video headend deployments, not a general-purpose Ethernet switch. Cisco's end-of-sale schedule set December 29, 2020 as the last day to order the original part, so RF Gateway 1 operators now source this tri-speed copper SFP as an EdgeOptic aftermarket compatible.

The RJ45 connector accepts standard twisted-pair Category 5 cable, with a maximum reach of 100 meters. Auto-negotiation across 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T lets one part number cover legacy 10 and 100 Mbps copper runs alongside full Gigabit Ethernet, so operators do not need separate SKUs per speed. The module runs on +3.3V and follows the standard SFP mechanical footprint, seating in existing SFP cages without adapters.

The module is built to the INF-8074i SFP specification and the SFP MSA, and carries CE and RoHS certification. Operating temperature is rated 0 to 70 degrees Celsius, covering standard equipment rooms and headend environments.
