EdgeOptic's 407-10439 compatible is a Dell-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1000M-SFP-T multi-vendor 10/100/1000BASE-T copper SFP transceiver. It matches the form factor, electrical interface, and reach of the original Dell 407-10439 copper SFP, so it drops into the same RJ-45 SFP ports on Dell Force10 and Dell Networking switches that already accept the OEM part. The 407-10439 is a 1000BASE-T copper twisted-pair module.

The transceiver runs over unshielded twisted-pair cabling, with up to 100 m on Cat 5 or Cat 5e.
