Dell (Force10) compatible 407-BBOK Description
407-BBOK is a Dell Networking 10GBASE-SR SFP+ part number found in older Dell and Force10 platform catalogues. It predates newer Dell SR SKUs such as 407-BBOU (RK0CX) and 407-BBVJ (HN12K), which are the current recommended entries for PowerSwitch S-Series and Z-Series orders. The 407-BBOK remains listed for S4048-ON, S5048F-ON, N3048EP-ON, and legacy Force10 S-Series switches still in production networks.
EdgeOptic's compatible version is built on the 10G-SFP-300 platform with Dell-specific EEPROM programming. The 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver provide a minimum 6.1 dB optical budget per IEEE 802.3ae, supporting 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multimode fiber. DDM/DOM monitoring reports Tx/Rx power, temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current. Dell OS10 and FTOS read the module's diagnostic data through standard SFP+ register addresses.
Data rate support covers 1.25 to 10.3125 Gbps for 10GbE and 1GbE link speeds. Connector is duplex LC/UPC. The SFP+ form factor follows SFF-8431/SFF-8432 MSA requirements. Operating temperature range is 0 to 70 °C. CE and RoHS certified.
