EdgeOptic's ET4202-RJ45 compatible is an Edgecore-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1000M-SFP-M copper transceiver. It presents Edgecore Networks EEPROM to the host, so Edgecore Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports recognize it as the original ET4202-RJ45. The module runs 1000BASE-T over Cat5 or Cat5e unshielded twisted pair with an RJ45 connector, reaching up to 100 m. This is a Gigabit-only part fixed at 1000 Mbps; it does not fall back to 10BASE-T or 100BASE-T, so every device on the link must operate at Gigabit speed. It runs on a +3.3 V single supply and supports DDM for real-time diagnostics. Operating temperature spans the commercial 0 to 70 °C range. Typical use is short Gigabit copper access links in enterprise and ISP LAN environments where fiber is not required.

The compatible matches the IEEE 802.3ab (1000BASE-T, Clause 40) electrical and timing spec and follows the SFP MSA and INF-8074i mechanical footprint.
