Emulex compatible OC10-SR-OPT-1 Description

OC10-SR-OPT-1 is an Emulex OneConnect 10GBASE-SR SFP+ for the Emulex CNA family: OCe11102, OCe14102, and OCe14401 adapters. The OC prefix marks the OneConnect adapter ecosystem; OPT-1 identifies the optical module revision. OneConnect CNAs carry 10GbE plus FCoE traffic on the same physical port and are widely deployed inside HPE StoreFabric, Dell/EMC, IBM, and Oracle storage and compute systems. The same card is shipped with different OEM labels depending on the host integrator.

Emulex was acquired by Avago in 2015. Avago subsequently acquired Broadcom Corporation and adopted the Broadcom name in 2016. OneConnect firmware and drivers have migrated to Broadcom branding in newer releases, but the SFP+ vendor ID block still reads Emulex on cards that predate the transition. EdgeOptic's compatible is programmed to match the Emulex vendor ID, so OneConnect firmware brings the port up under the default 10GbE/FCoE profile without EEPROM rejection, both on legacy Emulex-branded inventory and on Broadcom-reissued driver stacks.

Optical build: 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, 850 nm PIN photodiode, 6.1 dB minimum link budget, dual LC. Line rate is 10.3125 Gbps per IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52; FCoE frames ride inside Ethernet at the same line rate. Reach is 300 m over OM3 and 400 m over OM4. SFF-8432 form factor, SFF-8472 DOM for TX power, RX power, bias current, temperature and voltage. Operating range 0 to 70 degrees Celsius. Typical deployment is OneConnect CNA uplinks into an FCoE-capable top-of-rack switch (Nexus 5500/5600, Brocade VDX) carrying converged LAN + SAN traffic on a single fiber pair. On the fabric side, the switch applies its own optic-vendor allow list, so the top-of-rack side of the link usually needs a switch-vendor-coded SR SFP+ that matches Cisco or Brocade EEPROM programming rather than Emulex.

For HPE StoreFabric or Dell/EMC-branded OneConnect inventory that requires a specific OEM EEPROM (rather than the Emulex-native programming), contact our sales team with the host system PN for the correct OEM-coded build.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does OC10-SR-OPT-1 work on Emulex OneConnect cards rebranded under Broadcom?

Yes. OneConnect firmware still reads the SFP+ vendor block and compares it against the Emulex-qualified list, regardless of whether the driver label shows Emulex or Broadcom. EdgeOptic's compatible is programmed to that list, so OCe11102, OCe14102, and OCe14401 adapters bring the port up under stock firmware.

What about OneConnect cards sold as HPE StoreFabric CN1100R or Dell-branded OCe14102?

OEM-rebadged OneConnect cards sometimes enforce the OEM's own vendor ID (HPE, Dell) rather than the Emulex-native ID. The default Emulex programming on this module covers Emulex-branded inventory. For HPE- or Dell-skinned OneConnect cards, confirm the host PN so the correct OEM-coded build ships.
