Extreme compatible MGBIC-BX10-U Description

EdgeOptic's MGBIC-BX10-U compatible is an Extreme Networks-coded version of the EdgeOptic BiDi-1.25G-SFP-21-AD multi-vendor 1000BASE-BX BiDi SFP transceiver. It transmits at 1310nm and receives at 1490nm over a single strand of single-mode fiber through an LC connector, conforming to IEEE 802.3ah 1000BASE-BX10. As with any BiDi SFP, this module pairs with a matching BX10-D unit at the far end to complete one bidirectional link.

The EdgeOptic build uses an FP laser transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver, with transmit power from −9 to 3 dBm, receive sensitivity better than −22 dBm and overload rated at −3 dBm. The 1310nm and 1490nm bands each carry a 40nm passband, 1290 to 1330nm and 1470 to 1510nm, with 140 to 160 ps/nm of chromatic dispersion tolerance, supporting a 15dB optical link budget and up to 20km of reach over single-mode fiber. Operating temperature runs 0 to 70C on a 3.3V supply, with DDM diagnostics reported per SFF-8472. Compliance covers CE, RoHS, Class 1 laser safety per FDA/IEC 60825-1, and the INF-8074i SFP MSA.
