Intel compatible E1GSFPT Description
EdgeOptic's E1GSFPT compatible is an Intel-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1000M-SFP-T multi-vendor tri-speed copper SFP transceiver. This is a copper module, not an optical or fiber transceiver: it uses an RJ45 connector over twisted-pair cabling in place of a fiber connector and laser. It auto-negotiates 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T, covering legacy 10 Mbps, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet from one SFP slot.
Intel-branded network equipment with SFP slots that supports tri-speed copper SFP modules can accept this compatible for RJ45 uplinks over existing twisted-pair runs, avoiding a fiber patch when copper reach is sufficient. Check the target Intel-branded switch, router or media converter's SFP slot documentation for tri-speed copper support before ordering, since not every SFP cage negotiates the full 10/100/1000 range.
The module ships in the standard SFP form factor per the INF-8074i and SFP MSA specifications, fitting any SFP cage sized for that footprint. It terminates in an RJ45 jack for twisted-pair patch cords and reaches up to 100 meters over Category 5 cable, matching typical cabling runs between a wiring closet and a desk or access point.
Operating temperature is rated 0 to 70 degrees Celsius for standard commercial use, and the module runs on a 3.3V supply consistent with the SFP MSA power budget. It carries CE and RoHS compliance markings alongside the INF-8074i and SFP MSA mechanical and electrical specifications.
Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor transceiver platforms, this module ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty. For volume pricing or an alternative vendor coding, contact our sales team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Intel E1GSFPT a copper (RJ45) or an optical/fiber module?
The E1GSFPT is a copper module. It uses an RJ45 connector over twisted-pair cabling, not a fiber connector or laser, and auto-negotiates 10BASE-T, 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T. If a listing describes it as an optical or fiber SFP, that description does not apply to this ordering code.
