Juniper compatible SFPP-10GE-SR Description

EdgeOptic's SFPP-10GE-SR compatible is a Juniper-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver, supplied for Juniper MX, PTX and ACX service-provider router platforms with SFP+ uplink ports. Juniper-recognized EEPROM lets the optic register cleanly on the router's transceiver inventory, so the platform accepts the module as the OEM SFPP-10GE-SR form without prompting a transceiver-mismatch alert. SFPP-10GE-SR is Juniper's ordering code for this router-family 10GBASE-SR optic; 740-031980-01 is the matching Juniper internal part number engineers see in Junos chassis output.

850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, multi-mode duplex LC. Reach is up to 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multi-mode fiber per the IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR specification. TX output power runs −5 to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity −11.1 dBm, link budget 6.1 dB. DDM/DOM supported via SFF-8472 for live link diagnostics, accessible from Junos using show interfaces diagnostics optics. Compliance: SFF-8431, SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR, RoHS, IEC60825-1 Class 1 laser safety. Operating range 0 to 70°C commercial.

SFPP-10GE-SR is Juniper's ordering code for 10GBASE-SR SFP+ on Juniper MX, PTX and ACX router families with 10G SFP+ ports. SFPP-10GE-SR is distinct from EX-SFP-10GE-SR, which carries a different Juniper EEPROM identifier programmed for the EX and QFX switch families: the two optics are optically equivalent 10GBASE-SR modules with different OEM coding for different Juniper platform lines. Verify the specific router model and Junos release against Juniper's Hardware Compatibility Tool before deployment.

Within the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor platform, the same physical SFP+ hardware ships under more than 80 vendor codes covering 10G Ethernet, 1G Ethernet fallback, and the 1G to 10G Fibre Channel rate range. For Juniper MX, PTX and ACX deployments SFPP-10GE-SR is the Juniper-coded router form; for Juniper EX and QFX switches the EX-SFP-10GE-SR coded form is the matching ordering route.

Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty included. SFPP-10GE-SR FAQ

What is the difference between SFPP-10GE-SR and EX-SFP-10GE-SR on Juniper platforms?

Both SFPP-10GE-SR and EX-SFP-10GE-SR are 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceivers at 850 nm over multi-mode fiber, with equivalent optical specifications. The split is at the Juniper product-line level: SFPP-10GE-SR carries the EEPROM identifier for Juniper MX, PTX and ACX router families, while EX-SFP-10GE-SR carries the EEPROM identifier for the Juniper EX and QFX switch families. The two optics are not interchangeable from a vendor-validation perspective: the router-coded SFPP-10GE-SR may not register cleanly on an EX/QFX switch, and vice versa. Match the OEM ordering code to the target chassis family per Juniper's Hardware Compatibility Tool before ordering.
