Juniper compatible SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET Description

EdgeOptic's SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET compatible is a Juniper-coded extended-temperature 10GBASE-SR SFP+ for the SRX service-gateway platform, using the newer SFPP-10G naming pattern. The part targets SRX1500, SRX4100, SRX4200 and SRX4600 firewalls deployed in enclosures where the ambient temperature is expected to exceed the standard commercial 0 to 70 degrees Celsius ceiling, such as outdoor cabinets, utility racks and remote branch PoPs. Case operating range is -40 to +85 degrees Celsius, which is the spec difference versus the commercial SRX 10GbE SFP+ parts; the optical stage itself is unchanged from the standard commercial SR build.

Optical performance follows IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 at 10.3125 Gbps line rate, with an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, an 850 nm PIN photodiode receiver and a 6.1 dB link budget. Reach is 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 over a duplex LC multimode interface, with approximately 82 m on OM2 and 33 m on OM1 for legacy fiber plants. The SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET and SRX-SFP-10GE-SR SKUs share the same optical design; the differentiator is the -ET suffix marking the wider case operating range. Mechanical envelope is the SFP+ MSA (SFF-8432) with SFF-8472 digital diagnostics surfacing TX power, RX power, laser bias current, supply voltage and case temperature through 'show interfaces diagnostics optics' on Junos.

EdgeOptic programs the EEPROM with Juniper SRX identifiers so Junos registers the module as a native SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET on SRX1500 through SRX4600 chassis, and the SFP+ port comes up under the expected Juniper PID without flagging a non-qualified-optic event on the SRX. When the case runs beyond the commercial range, the SFF-8472 temperature reading is what to watch during commissioning and across seasonal temperature changes. The module conforms to the SFP+ MSA and is CE/RoHS certified. For outdoor-cabinet deployments on SRX4600 at regional PoP sites, for temperature planning on an industrial-site SRX deployment, or for bulk pricing on an SRX1500 fleet refresh, please contact our sales team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the case operating temperature range of SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET?

-40 to +85 degrees Celsius. The -ET suffix identifies the extended-temperature grade on the SRX 10GbE SFP+ platform, applicable to outdoor cabinets, utility racks and ruggedized edge sites where ambient temperature is expected to exceed the standard 70 degree commercial ceiling.

Which SRX chassis take SRX-SFPP-10G-SR-ET?

SRX1500, SRX4100, SRX4200 and SRX4600 service-gateway firewalls. These are the mid and high-end SRX platforms that carry the newer SFPP-10G pluggable class on their 10GbE host interfaces.

Does the extended-temp grade change the optical specification?

No. The optical stage is identical to the standard commercial SR SFP+: IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 at 10.3125 Gbps, 4.6 dB link budget, 300 m OM3 reach. The -ET suffix applies to the case temperature rating, not to the launch power, receiver sensitivity or reach numbers.
