Mellanox MFM1T02A-SR is a 10GBASE-SR SFP+ built for Mellanox ConnectX-3 EN and ConnectX-4 EN dual-port 10GbE NICs and for Mellanox SwitchX-2 SN and SX leaf switches running MLNX-OS. It is an Ethernet short-reach optic per IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52, using an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and an 850 nm PIN receiver at 10.3125 Gbps line rate over duplex LC multimode fiber, with no lane aggregation and no FEC required at this reach. The standard 6.1 dB link budget covers 300 m on OM3 and up to 400 m on OM4, which matches the typical data-center leaf-to-server span and avoids the fiber-plant overhead of an LRM or LR optic on OM3. The module supports SFF-8472 DDM/DOM for live TX power, RX power, laser bias current, voltage and temperature readouts through the I2C two-wire interface, and exposes them through ethtool -m on ConnectX drivers.
