Oracle compatible X2129A-N Description
EdgeOptic's X2129A-N compatible is an Oracle/Sun-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver, supplied for Oracle SPARC and x86 server platforms with onboard or add-in 10G SFP+ ports. Oracle/Sun-recognized EEPROM lets the optic register cleanly on the host platform, so the firmware accepts the module as the OEM X2129A-N form. X2129A-N is Oracle's ordering code for this Sun-origin 10GBASE-SR SFP+; 530-4449 is the matching OEM hardware part number visible on the module label and in legacy Sun documentation.
850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, multi-mode duplex LC. Reach is up to 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multi-mode fiber per the IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR specification. TX output power runs −5 to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity −11.1 dBm, link budget 6.1 dB. The optic also supports 1G Ethernet fallback within the 1G/10G dual-rate envelope of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 platform. DDM/DOM supported via SFF-8472 for live link diagnostics. Compliance: SFF-8431, SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR, RoHS, IEC60825-1 Class 1 laser safety. Operating range 0 to 70°C commercial.
X2129A-N originated as the Sun Microsystems 10GBASE-SR SFP+ ordering code and continues today as the Oracle catalog form following Oracle's acquisition of Sun Microsystems in 2010. Engineers still see both Sun-era and Oracle-era documentation references for the same physical module, with 530-4449 as the underlying Sun hardware PN.
