16-Ch Double Fiber O-band Mux/Demux Description
16 Channels Double Fiber Passive O-band Mux/Demux – DOMD-16 is a member of the EDGE Optics xWDM Series product line. We designed EDGE Optics xWDM Series products to allow easy, gradual, logical, and cost-efficient expansion of network bandwidth using industry-leading passive WDM technology. The main advantage of xWDM is its passive nature – no power supply or cooling necessary, robustness with no special micro-climate requirements, and as a passive element, it has an MTBF of 100+ years. xWDM is fully data rate and line protocol neutral – it is possible to use with colored transceivers supporting applications such as 100G Ethernet. It is simple to install and requires no configuration or maintenance. DOMD-16 is a passive multiplexer/demultiplexer package designed to organize 16 duplex, protocol-independent O-band LAN-WDM 200 GHz grid compatible data streams over a pair of single-mode optical fibers, enabling up to 1.6 Tbps of aggregate capacity over a single fiber pair. The unit features LC/UPC connectors. With a focus on minimal insertion loss, DOMD-16 is equipped with band-pass filters extending the maximum distance of O-band connections up to 20 km. DOMD-16 is manufactured as a 19" 1U rack-mount unit fitting any standard equipment rack. The 1% monitor port ensures easy troubleshooting without downtime.
