10G CWDM SFP+ 40km Industrial Transceiver Description
The CWDM-10G-SFP-40I is EdgeOptic's industrial-temperature 10G CWDM SFP+ transceiver, built for 40 km over single-mode fiber at a 16 dB average link budget. The transmitter covers a 14-channel CWDM plan across 1270 to 1610 nm, excluding the 1390, 1410, 1430 and 1450 nm channels from the standard 18-channel ITU-T G.694.2 CWDM grid. The receiver passband spans the full 1270 to 1610 nm range to match downstream mux and demux equipment.
Operating from -40°C to +85°C, the module targets outdoor cabinets, cell-tower fronthaul, substations and other sites without climate control, where the standard 0°C to 70°C CWDM-10G-SFP-40 does not meet the environmental requirement. Optical output ranges from -3 dBm to 3 dBm, receiver sensitivity is -16 dBm with a 0.5 dBm overload point, on a DFB laser transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver with 400 to 800 ps/nm dispersion tolerance.
The transceiver supports a multi-rate envelope from 1.25 to 11.32 Gbps: 10G Ethernet at 10.31 Gbps, 1G through 10G Fibre Channel spanning 1.0625 to 10.52 Gbps, OTN applications including ODU2, ODU2e, OTU1e, OTU1f, OTU2, OTU2e and OTU2f, and STM-64 SONET/SDH at 9.95 Gbps. DDM/DOM monitoring reports transmit power, receive power, bias current, supply voltage and temperature.
