Supermicro compatible AOM-TSR-FS Description
EdgeOptic's AOM-TSR-FS compatible is a Supermicro-coded version of the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver, supplied as the standalone spare SFP+ for Supermicro SuperServer and FatTwin platforms with onboard or add-in SFP+ ports. Supermicro-recognized EEPROM lets the optic register cleanly on the platform's BMC/IPMI inventory and operating-system NIC drivers. AOM-TSR-FS is Supermicro's standalone spare ordering code, distinct from AOC-TSR-FS which references the same module bundled inside Supermicro adapter assemblies.
850 nm VCSEL transmitter, PIN photodiode receiver, multi-mode duplex LC. Reach is up to 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 multi-mode fiber. TX output power runs −5 to 0 dBm, receiver sensitivity −11.1 dBm, link budget 6.1 dB. The 10GBASE-SR / 1000BASE-SX dual-rate envelope on AOM-TSR-FS is consistent with Supermicro's own product description. DDM/DOM supported via SFF-8472 for live link diagnostics. Compliance: SFF-8431, SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR, RoHS, IEC60825-1 Class 1 laser safety. Operating range 0 to 70°C commercial.
Supermicro's Networking Cables and Transceivers Compatibility Matrix lists AOM-TSR-FS as the compatible 10G SFP+ optic for AOC-STGN-i1S and AOC-STGN-i2S add-in NICs, and for X10 and X11 generation SuperServer boards with integrated SFP+ ports. Each module is programmed with Supermicro-recognized EEPROM so the host accepts the optic without an unsupported-transceiver warning. Verify the specific motherboard and NIC revision against Supermicro's compatibility matrix before deployment.
Within the EdgeOptic 10G-SFP-300 multi-vendor platform, the same physical SFP+ hardware ships under more than 80 vendor codes covering 10G Ethernet, 1G Ethernet fallback, and the 1G to 10G Fibre Channel rate range. For Supermicro SuperServer and FatTwin deployments, AOM-TSR-FS is the Supermicro-coded form; for other host vendors the equivalent EdgeOptic optic ships coded for that vendor's EEPROM identifier.
Backed by 15+ years of EdgeOptic compatibility engineering across vendor optical platforms. Ships next business day from EU stock with a lifetime warranty included. AOM-TSR-FS FAQ
Is the AOM-TSR-FS a drop-in replacement for the AOM-GBIC-FSR2?
Only when Supermicro's Networking Cables and Transceivers Compatibility Matrix lists both SKUs against the target AOC NIC or SuperServer model. AOM-TSR-FS and AOM-GBIC-FSR2 are two distinct Supermicro ordering codes for the same 10GBASE-SR optical specification with different EEPROM coding for different board generations. Verify the host motherboard or NIC against Supermicro's compatibility matrix before substituting one SKU for the other; the EEPROM identifier mismatch can otherwise cause the host BMC to flag the optic as unrecognized.
Which SuperServer generations populate the AOM-TSR-FS cleanly?
X10 and X11 generation SuperServer motherboards with integrated SFP+ ports and AOC-STGN-i1S / AOC-STGN-i2S add-in NICs are the standard Supermicro deployment targets per the product description. Engineers cross-referencing newer X12 or X13 generation boards should verify the exact compatibility entry in Supermicro's Networking Cables and Transceivers Compatibility Matrix, since later generations may shift to a different OEM EEPROM identifier and a different AOM ordering code.
Does the AOM-TSR-FS support DDM readouts through IPMI?
The module implements SFF-8472 DDM via the standard SFP+ I2C interface, so DDM telemetry (temperature, supply voltage, TX bias, TX power, RX power) is accessible to host tooling. DDM access paths vary by motherboard and BMC firmware; verify IPMI sensor view support against the Supermicro user manual for the specific SuperServer board, and use operating-system level tools such as ethtool or vendor SFP+ utilities as the fallback when the BMC does not surface DDM registers directly.
