TEG-10GBSR TRENDnet Compatible 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver

TRENDnet TEG-10GBSR is a 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for TRENDnet enterprise and prosumer 10GbE switches. Host platforms include the TEG-30284 28-port managed 10G SFP+ switch, TEG-3524S 24-port managed chassis with 10G uplinks, and TEG-7080ES aggregation switches with SFP+ uplink cages. The EdgeOptic compatible carries TRENDnet-recognized EEPROM, so the host logs the optic with its expected TRENDnet attribution and passes the stock qualified-optic check without host-side overrides.

Protocol is IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 10GBASE-SR at a fixed 10.3125 Gbps line rate. 10GBASE-SR is a fixed-rate physical layer rather than a dual-rate optic class, and reach varies by multimode fiber grade: 300 m over OM3 and 400 m over OM4 at the 6.1 dB minimum link budget, with reduced 82 m over OM2 and 33 m over OM1 on legacy plant. Optical build uses an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter, 850 nm PIN photodiode receiver, duplex LC connector and SFP+ MSA (SFF-8432) mechanical envelope. SFF-8472 DDM/DOM publishes Tx power, Rx power, laser bias, module temperature and supply voltage to the host switch for per-port optical telemetry through the TRENDnet management interface.

Typical deployment is short-reach 10G uplinks between access TEG switches and aggregation or core chassis, over pre-installed OM3 or OM4 multimode trunks in small data center halls, enterprise risers and prosumer studio environments that aggregate multiple 1GbE access ports onto a 10GbE uplink. Commercial operating range is 0 to 70 degrees Celsius.
