EdgeOptic's TEG-MGBRJ compatible is a TRENDnet-coded version of the EdgeOptic 1000M-SFP-T multi-vendor 10/100/1000BASE-T copper SFP transceiver. It matches the form factor, electrical interface, and reach of the original TRENDnet TEG-MGBRJ copper RJ45 SFP, so it drops into the same MSA-compliant SFP host ports on TRENDnet switches and other networking equipment that already accept the OEM part.
The transceiver runs over unshielded twisted-pair cable, with up to 100 m of reach on Cat 5e or Cat 6. The tri-speed chipset auto-negotiates 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T, the Gigabit rate built to IEEE 802.3ab, with Auto MDI/MDI-X handling straight or crossover wiring. Operation falls in the commercial 0 to 70 degrees Celsius range on a single +3.3 V supply, with a typical power draw at or below 0.9 W, and digital diagnostics monitoring is supported. The build follows the SFP Multi-Source Agreement and the INF-8074i specification, with a hot-pluggable design for in-service module insertion and removal.
TEG-MGBRJ is a TRENDnet copper RJ45 SFP, the SMB and small-network option for 1000BASE-T uplinks over twisted-pair cabling.
