Zyxel compatible SFP10G-SR Description
Zyxel SFP10G-SR is a 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for Zyxel enterprise and data center switch uplinks. The EdgeOptic compatible carries Zyxel-recognized EEPROM so the module is accepted on Zyxel XS3800 and XS3900 series stackable 10GbE switches, the XGS4600 and XGS4700 aggregation line, and XGS3700 series enterprise stacks. Nebula-managed XGS chassis with SFP+ uplink cages also accept the optic under their stock qualified-optic allow list. The module is classified as a single-rate 10GBASE-SR physical-layer part and does not implement dual-rate 1G/10G operation.
Protocol is IEEE 802.3ae Clause 52 10GBASE-SR at a fixed 10.3125 Gbps line rate. Dual-rate 1G/10G behavior belongs to a separate SFP+ class (dual-rate modules and BiDi optics); SFP10G-SR is the fixed single-rate 10GBASE-SR part and does not implement a 1000BASE-X fallback at 1.25 Gbps. On Zyxel platforms running Nebula or ZyxelOS the host switch reads the SFP+ EEPROM rate code and reports a fixed 10G link at 10.3125 Gbps. Optical build uses an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter and 850 nm PIN photodiode receiver, 6.1 dB minimum link budget, duplex LC connector and SFP+ MSA (SFF-8432) mechanical envelope. Reach is 300 m over OM3 and 400 m over OM4, with 82 m over OM2 and 33 m over OM1 for legacy multimode. SFF-8472 DDM/DOM publishes Tx power, Rx power, laser bias, module temperature and supply voltage to the host for per-port monitoring in ZyxelOS and Nebula.
Typical deployment is 10G uplinks between XGS3700 or XGS4600 access stacks and XS3800 or XS3900 aggregation switches, and short data center ToR-to-leaf trunks inside a single hall over pre-installed OM3 or OM4 multimode fiber. For Nebula-managed fleets, the optic is visible through the Nebula Control Center alongside the host switch, so centralized monitoring inherits the DDM telemetry the module publishes. Commercial operating range is 0 to 70 degrees Celsius.
