DAC Cable (Direct-Attach Cable) is cost efficient close-range interconnection media widely used in telecom operator equipment rooms, data centers and corporate networks

DAC Cable Portfolio

Our compatible DAC Cable portfolio includes Passive Direct Attach Cables with speeds ranging from 10 Gbps to 400 Gbps, which are commonly used for short-distance connections in corporate and ISP data centers or network equipment rooms.

The term “DAC Cable” refers to a high-speed copper cable assembly that is welded directly into a form-factor housing without the use of optical lasers. Because there are no lasers involved, DAC Cables are much more cost effective and consume significantly less power than AOC Cables or Optical Transceivers (SX, SR, SR4) designed for short reach interconnections. Furthermore, because the cable is already welded to the interfaces at both ends, installation is simple. The limiting factor for DAC is short reach – the maximum interconnection reach is 3 to 7 meters, with 10G DAC cables having a reach of up to 7 meters and higher speed interfaces having a maximum reach of 3 meters. AOC cables should be considered for longer interconnection distances. If you need to connect network devices that operate at different speeds, such as 100 Gbps to lower-speed 25 Gbps ports or 40 Gbps to lower-speed 10 Gbps ports, DAC Breakout cables are a good choice.

We can provide compatible DAC for all top brands and their latest platforms, including Cisco, Juniper, HP, and Dell, and we can create custom solutions where one side of the DAC cable is made compatible with one brand and the other side of the DAC is made compatible with another brand, for example, when servers are interconnected with Data Center switches. 10G DAC cable

Below is our 10G DAC cable selection, which includes 10G SFP+ for factor DAC cables with distances ranging from 0.5 to 10 meters. These 10G DAC cable assemblies are fully passive copper cable high-speed units with SFF-8432 MSA standard compatible SFP+ pre-terminated cages at both ends. Our 10G DAC cable product line supports data rates ranging from 1.0625 to 10.52 Gbps and applications such as 10G Ethernet, GE Ethernet, 1/2/4/8/10G Fiber Channel, and can be used for mobile network fronthaul CPRI and OBSAI protocol options. The most common applications for our 10G DAC cable compatibles are cost effective close range interconnections where Servers are being interconnected with Switches.

25G DAC cable

Further on our DAC portfolio, we provide 25G DAC cable products of length ranging from 1 to 5 meters, which ensures a smooth and stable network data rate growth following 10G transceiver generation. Using the SFP28 form factor, our 25G DAC cable portfolio consists of fully passive high-speed Copper cable assemblies that provide 2.5 times the bandwidth of 10G DAC. The 25G direct attach cable is compliant with the IEEE 802.3by specification (25GBASE-CR). Our 25G DAC cable product line is intended not only for 25G Ethernet and 32G Fiber Channel applications, but also for 10G Ethernet, with data rates ranging from 10.31 to 28.05 Gbps supported. Our 25G DAC cable products are most commonly used for low-cost close-range interconnections within the equipment room for telecom operators or data centers, as well as Top of Rack consolidations and wireless backhaul.

40G DAC cable

The 40G DAC cable can be used to establish 40Gbps (40G Ethernet) interconnections within your data centers, equipment rooms at a low cost. Our 40G DAC cable portfolio includes 40G QSFP to QSFP direct-attach cable assemblies ranging in length from 0.5 to 7 meters which are fully compliant with QSFP+ Multi Source Agreement SFF-8436. The 40G DAC cable itself has four independent 10Gbps lanes in each direction and supports data rates ranging from 2.125 to 41.2 Gbps for multi-rate communication and applications such as 40G Ethernet (41.25Gbps), 10G Ethernet (10.31Gbps), and Fiber channel speeds. Additionally if there is a need to connect network devices operating at different speeds you can use 40G to 10G breakout cable. Check out our 40G DAC product line and contact us if you have any questions.

50G DAC Cable

Our 50G DAC cable portfolio consists of SFP56 Passive Direct Attach Copper Cables capable of connectivity from 1 meter up to 3 meters, which are fully compliant to SFF-8402, IEEE802.3.bj and IEEE802.3 cd standards. 50G cables can be applied in high-density 10G/25G/50G Ethernet switches and network interfaces to upgrade server connection in data centers. The 50G cable itself has one single line lane with PAM4 transmission. It uses the same popular SFP+ caging to provide more cost effective solutions for enterprises.

100G DAC Cable

Many network architects favor 100G DAC Cable compatibles due to their high speed, low power consumption, and ability to make rack-to-rack connections over short distances. Distances range from 0.5 till 7 meters over passive twinax copper cable. 100G DAC Cables has four independently operating 25 Gbps data lanes. Worth noting is that these 100G DAC Cables are fully compliant to 100G Ethernet IEEE 802.3bj 100GBASE-CR4 standard. Which makes them universally usable throughout network equipment which requires no special coding protection – are compatible with MSA equipment. Newer less, if it is necessary our engineers are specialized in 100G DAC cable coding and can provide any compatibility to any datacom equipment required.

400G QSFP-DD DAC Cable

Nowadays 400G DAC Cable is the pinnacle of data communication interfaces in modern data centers. These cables consist of passive Twinax cable with 8 separate full duplex data lines, each capable of 56 Gbps data rate. Length of these cables is starting from 0.5 till 3 meters. 400G DAC Cable consist of QSFP-DD form factor transceivers at both ends. This form factor ensures the best switching equipment performance/space ratio. These 400G DAC Cables are fully compatible with the QSFP-DD MSA standard. Which makes them compatible throughout network equipment which requires no special coding protection – are compatible with MSA equipment. Newer less, if it is necessary our engineers are specialized in 400G DAC cable coding and can provide any compatibility to any Datacom equipment required.
