Our EDGEOPTIC 800G-OSFP800L-100 is a multi-vendor compatible 800GBASE-SR8 Linear Pluggable Optical (LPO) module designed for ultra-short-reach 800 Gigabit Ethernet applications. This transceiver utilizes the OSFP800 form factor with LPO architecture, delivering 850 Gbps aggregate throughput through an SR8 configuration with eight parallel 106.25 Gbps lanes using PAM4 modulation at 850nm wavelength. The linear design eliminates internal DSP processing, significantly reducing latency and power consumption.
The 800G-OSFP800L-100 operates at 850nm wavelength, utilizing VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for signal reception. The LPO architecture bypasses traditional DSP-based signal conditioning, enabling sub-5 nanosecond latency critical for latency-sensitive applications. This optical configuration ensures a 1.8 dB link budget with maximum transmission distance of 50 meters over OM4/OM5 multimode fiber when used with Host FEC.
This 800G OSFP800 LPO transceiver is hot-pluggable with an MTP/MPO-16 APC connector serving as the optical interface. The electrical interface conforms to OSFP800 MSA specifications while implementing linear passthrough signal path.
