Our EDGEOPTIC 800G-OSFP800L-500 is a multi-vendor compatible 800GBASE-DR8 Linear Pluggable Optical (LPO) module designed for medium-reach 800 Gigabit Ethernet applications requiring ultra-low latency. This transceiver utilizes the OSFP800 form factor with LPO architecture, delivering 850 Gbps aggregate throughput through a DR8 configuration with eight parallel 106.25 Gbps lanes using PAM4 modulation at 1310nm wavelength. The linear design eliminates internal DSP processing for minimal latency.

The 800G-OSFP800L-500 operates in the 1304.5-1317.5nm wavelength range, utilizing EML (Electro-absorption Modulated Laser) technology for transmission and PIN photodiode for signal reception. The LPO architecture bypasses traditional DSP-based signal conditioning, enabling sub-5 nanosecond latency while maintaining reliable single-mode fiber transmission. This configuration ensures a 3 dB link budget with maximum transmission distance of 500 meters over OS2 single-mode fiber.

This 800G OSFP800 LPO transceiver is hot-pluggable with an MTP/MPO-16 APC connector serving as the optical interface. The electrical interface conforms to OSFP800 MSA specifications while implementing linear passthrough signal path. The closed top design provides optimized thermal management for the lower-power LPO architecture. Host-based CDR provides signal conditioning, maintaining the latency benefits of linear operation.

The module incorporates DDM/DOM functionality providing real-time monitoring via CMIS v5.2 compliant interface. Average launch power ranges from -6.4 dBm to 2 dBm per lane with receiver sensitivity from -10.4 dBm to 4 dBm and 5 dBm receiver overload protection. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C with storage rated -40°C to 85°C.

Standards compliance includes IEEE 802.3 specifications for 800 Gigabit Ethernet and OSFP800 MSA requirements.
