Six-Channel BiDi CCWDM Mux/Demux, Side B Configurable Build
SCMD-6B is the Side B counterpart to SCMD-6A, pairing with it to complete a single-fiber CCWDM link. It multiplexes 6 data channels over 12 ITU-T G.694.2 wavelengths spaced 20nm apart across the 1391-1611nm band, insertion loss below 1.7dB, LC/UPC connectors. Every build includes the 1310nm monitor port (1.2dB added loss). Pick the housing: mini-LGX, LGX, or 19-inch 1U rack panel.

6-Channel Single Fiber CCWDM Mux/Demux (Side B) Description
SCMD-6B is a 6 channel single fiber CCWDM multiplexer and demultiplexer unit, the Side B half of a matched pair with SCMD-6A. The two units are installed together to complete a bidirectional single fiber CCWDM link. SCMD-6B multiplexes 6 data channels over 12 CCWDM wavelengths spanning 1391 to 1611nm per ITU-T G.694.2, with 20nm channel spacing.
Each channel passband is rated at plus or minus 7.5nm around its center wavelength, with insertion loss of 1.7dB and passband ripple of 0.5dB. Isolation is 30dB between adjacent channels and 45dB between non-adjacent channels.
Polarization dependent loss is 0.1dB and polarization mode dispersion is 0.1ps. Directivity is 50dB and return loss is 45dB, with maximum power handling of 500mW. Insertion loss and wavelength stay stable with temperature, drifting only 0.003dB and 0.002nm per degree Celsius. The unit uses LC/UPC duplex connectors.
A 1310nm monitor port is included on every SCMD-6B build, in every housing option. This differs from SCMD-6A, where the monitor port is a selectable option present on half its SKUs and omitted on the other half. The monitor port adds 1.2dB of insertion loss and provides a tap point for connecting a power meter or optical spectrum analyzer, allowing in-service monitoring without breaking the live link. SCMD-6B does not include an EXP expansion port in any configuration.
SCMD-6B is available in three housing formats: mini-LGX, LGX, and a 19 inch 1U rack mount unit. The housing choice affects mounting only; the optical core, wavelength plan, and monitor port are identical across all three.
SCMD-6B operates from negative 5 to 70 degrees Celsius and stores from negative 40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It is rated for indoor protection and complies with CE, RoHS, and ITU-T G.694.2.
