400G OSFP Passive DAC Twinax Copper Cable (0.5-3m) Description
The EDGEOPTIC 400G-PDAC-OSFP is a high-performance passive direct attach copper (DAC) cable designed for reliable 400 Gigabit Ethernet and InfiniBand HDR connectivity in modern data center environments. Featuring OSFP56 connectors on both ends, this cable provides a straightforward point-to-point solution for short-reach, ultra-high-bandwidth interconnects between switches, servers, and GPU clusters.
With support for data rates ranging from 106.25 up to 425 Gbps, the cable offers excellent flexibility for a variety of deployment scenarios. It fully supports 100G, 200G, and 400G Ethernet, making it ideal for data centers scaling toward higher speeds. In InfiniBand environments, it supports HDR, delivering the throughput required for high-performance computing, AI training, and other data-intensive workloads where bandwidth and stability are critical.
As a passive DAC cable, it requires no external power and introduces virtually zero latency, ensuring efficient and responsive data transmission. The cable is constructed using high-quality twinax copper with an AWG26 design, which enhances signal integrity over distances up to 3 meters while maintaining durability and manageable flexibility for dense installations.
The 400G OSFP DAC supports DDM/DOM functionality, enabling real-time monitoring of key operating parameters such as temperature and voltage. This helps simplify maintenance and improves overall network reliability by allowing early detection of potential issues.
Designed for standard data center conditions, the cable operates within a temperature range of 0 to 70°C and offers an MTBF of 1,000,000 hours, ensuring long-term dependable performance. It complies with OSFP MSA and SFF-8679 standards, along with IEEE 802.3cd and InfiniBand HDR specifications, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of networking equipment.
Typical applications include switch-to-switch interconnects in spine-leaf architectures, GPU cluster networking for AI and machine learning workloads, and high-speed storage fabrics. Its passive, power-efficient design also contributes to reduced energy consumption in large-scale deployments.
Each cable undergoes thorough testing before shipment, including electrical validation and connector inspection, to ensure consistent quality. It is CE and RoHS certified, meeting international safety and environmental standards.
