Gray eCPRI 25G SFP28 (Small Form-Factor Pluggable 28) transceivers are used in 5G Mobile Network Fronthaul for Double Fibre connections and 1 to 1 links between Radio Equipment Control (eREC) and eCPRI Radio Equipment (eRE) and Gray eCPRI 25G SFP28 are backwards compatible with older generation 4G/3G Mobile Networks. Gray eCPRI 25G modules support latest 5G Fronthaul bit rate requirements and such applications as CPRI Option 10 (24.33 Gbps), CPRI Option 9 (12.165 Gbps), CPRI Option 8 (10.138 Gbps) and CPRI option 7 (9.830 Gbps).

Typical Gray eCPRI 25G SFP28 deployment scenarios are:

  • 25GE SR (Short Range) eCPRI / CPRI, applications up to 100 meters over OM4 fiber
  • 25GE LR Lite (Long Range Lite) eCPRI / CPRI, applications up to 300 meters over OS2 fiber
  • 25GE LR (Long Range) eCPRI / CPRI, applications up to 10km over OS2 fiber
  • 25GE ER (Extended Range) eCPRI / CPRI, applications up to 40km over OS2 fiber

Standard Temp. Fronthaul SFP

For optical module use in typical telecom environments, Standard Temperature product versions are recommended with 0 to 70 Celsius operating temperature range.

Industrial Temp. Fronthaul SFP

For optical module use under harsh environments, like mobile base station towers, unheated outdoor cabinets, we recommend to use Industrial Temperature product versions which support -45 to 85 Celsius operating temperature range

RxX Only Fronthaul SFP

As user data traffic is asymmetrical, there is much more downlink traffic as uplink, our Rx Only Gray 25G SFP28 eCPRI modules which have only PIN receiver, are cost efficient alternative to standard modules which have both components TOSA laser and PIN receivers and can help mobile network architects to make more optimal networks infrastructure designs.
